Are you under a mountain of daily receipts from using your credit and debit cards? Receipt storage can be as easy as envelopes labeled according to the name of your card.
- Take one envelope per credit or debit card and put the name of that credit card on the outside of the envelope: Mastercard, Visa, Discover, Debit Card, etc.
- Every time you use your card, come home and place the receipt in the labeled envelope
- When your statement comes you can quickly check the receipts from that envelope against your statement
- Time to shred the receipts that do not need to be saved
- If you have a receipt with an item that may need to be returned, you can keep a “Return” envelope as well-clean it out when you know the item is a keeper
Round up your receipts and keep them at your fingertips!

Holiday Organizing and Quick Tips
bows, container store, gift bags, gift wrap, gift wrapping supplies, organize gift wrap efficientorganization
6:07 pm
It’s a great time of year to round up all of your gift wrapping supplies so you everything close at hand. Depending on how much you have, you may want to consider having one organizer set up for regular gifts and one all set up for holiday wrapping.
- Dig into the closets and under the bed to gather all your gift wrap supplies together.
- Put like items together-bows with bows, gift bags with gift bags, etc. so you can see how much you have.
- Make sure everything you are keeping is in good condition. Do you really want to put a squished bow on your gift? Pick the best, get rid of the rest.
- It’s ok to donate excess if you have way too much, you don’t have to have enough wrap to outfit a small store!
- Pack it all up in a great gift wrap organizer and you are ready to wrap! Don’t forget tape and scissors.
Here is a great product from the Container Store; you can hang it, lay it flat to slide it under a bed or fold it in half to set up on a tabletop.

Quick Tips
clutter, fear, letting go, stuff efficientorganization
4:30 am
What do I believe is the number one reason why people hold on to too much stuff? FEAR! I believe people are afraid of making a mistake. Afraid they might miss it, might need it someday, might feel guilty.
So when you are holding onto something and you need to make a decision about parting with it ask yourself, What is the worst thing that could happen if I part with this item? ”Could I borrow another one?” “Could I buy a replacement?” Unless you are holding an item that is irreplaceable, most of our stuff is really just ’stuff’. Sure there is a chance you could make a mistake. But I believe the fantastic feeling that you will get by clearing the clutter and enjoying your home will far outweigh a mistake. If you part with 30 items and need to replace 1 item, you will be far ahead of the clutter & chaos. Don’t let fear hold you back from having the home you love!

Holiday Organizing and Quick Tips
guest room, Guests, Holiday Organizing, holidays, host efficientorganization
9:48 pm
If you haven’t seen your guest bed for a while because of the piles of stuff on top of it-start digging out now! Don’t be stressed out right before the holidays because you have guests on the way, by starting now you can be a relaxed host when Thanksgiving rolls around!
Think about whether you want to tackle the whole room at one time or if you would rather break down your project by taking a section at a time and working around the room until it’s done. Consider whether you want to work alone, with a friend or with the help of a professional organizer.
It’s time to make the decisions that you have put off that created the piles in the first place. It’s time to donate or give away what you don’t love and aren’t using and give a home to the items that you know you want to keep.
Think about the calm and cozy feeling your guests will enjoy in their home-away-from-home to keep you motivated to get your guest room in order!
